“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”

—Marcel Proust

Some things to consider:

  • Getting Started

Opening up to someone you don’t know may seem overwhelming; or, you may find it incredibly easy. Either way, we’ll take our time so that you feel comfortable sharing when you’re ready.

  • Confidentiality

Our conversations are confidential unless you communicate to me that you intend harm to yourself or someone else.

  • Sessions

Most clients meet weekly (although some meet bi-weekly) and the sessions usually last 50-60 minutes long. I see clients M-F, 8a—6p.

  • In Person vs. Online appts

I believe the therapeutic relationship is best formed and nurtured when both people are sitting in the same room, face to face. Therapy is not about “transferring information” from me to you; it’s about creating a healthy relationship in a safe and nurturing space. The fewer distractions you have, the more time you have to heal.

  • Paying for Therapy

Currently, I partner with the firm Headway to confirm health insurance benefits and to file the claims for our sessions. Let’s talk about how you can determine what your benefits would be if you decided to work with me.

Unfortunately, Headway is not in network with Medicaid or any Medicare plans.

  • Location

My therapy office is a dedicated room in my home (see picture above), which is in Durham. The office is easily accessed from the street and there is ample parking in front of my house.
